The conference field trip will take place during 16–18 October 2026 and follows a 3-day / 2-night geological transect across the External and Internal Albanides, from Tirana to Saranda, Korçë and back. The excursion illustrates marine sedimentation, fold-and-thrust tectonics, karst hydrogeology, ophiolite obduction and extensional tectonics associated with the geodynamic evolution of Albania. Alongside these geological and geodynamic features, the field trip also highlights the remarkable interaction between tectonics, landscape evolution, archaeology, natural beauty and cultural heritage, offering participants a highly engaging scientific and cultural experience across some of the most spectacular regions of Albania. The itinerary combines geological stops, panoramic viewpoints, archaeological sites and active tectonic structures, while accommodation is planned in Saranda (Night 1) and Korçë (Night 2).
